Hannah Claire Baker is a New York-based screenwriter and culture writer.

Born in Amsterdam and raised in New York, she attended Wesleyan University’s film studies program before working as a writer & director’s assistant to Academy Award winning/nominated filmmakers including Ava DuVernay, Chivo Lubezki, and Drew Goddard. She is currently developing her debut feature script with A/Vantage Pictures & Putnam Pictures. She was the recipient of the 2019 Hedgebrook Screenwriting Residency.

She is also the writer of the film criticism Substack "Never Cursed." She has also worked extensively as a fashion and beauty editor, as well as a copywriter for commercials and branded content.

As a photographer and director, Hannah has worked with artists like Mitski, Ashe, Sasami, Vagabon, Charly Bliss, Henry Hall, and more. Her music videos and photography have been featured by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Teen Vogue, Spotify, Kodak, Ilford, Rolling Stone, Billboard, and more.
